When in the realm of business, confidence is the one characteristic that can take you above and beyond where you expected to be- that and good timing. Life’s timing isn’t something we can control but the level of self-esteem you portray is. In order to feel confident you have look confident and feel good about yourself, something achievable through clothing. If you look the part, you’ll feel the part which will come out in the way you speak and present yourself. You no longer have to worry about if you wore the right thing or if they will take you seriously. Whether you’re going for an interview for a job you’re highly interested in, promoting a product, presenting a business plan or just plain asking for a raise you have to have your “go-to suit”. We’ve heard it before, dress for success!
Four Qualities in Your Go-To Suit:
1. Fits you properly
If you don’t have the body to pull off skinny jeans when they’re in style, don’t wear them. People will admire you more when your booty looks brilliant in boot-cut rather than it looking squished in the latest Gucci pants- leave the skin-tight jeans for the teenage dreams.
2. Professional, but shows your personality
The jacket you choose can have a cute ruffle detail, or a contrasting colour on the lapels, or it could have an unusual collar shape. You could also show your personality through the top you wear. You don’t have to pair your jacket with a white collared shirt. Instead wear a shirt that has an eye-catching detail that will still look professional if you need to take off your jacket.
3. Features classic mixed with modern
Wear a classic neutral coloured suit such as grey, black or beige. To make these colours more modern focus on a shapely silhouette. You can also add a pop of colour in the shirt you wear, or the accessories you carry.
4. Not too distracting
When you want to be taken seriously you cannot wear items that will take attention away from your ambitious words. Do not wear dangly earrings, bangles, bold prints or 2 or more bold colours mixed together. Keep it simple, stylish, and smart.
