The Only Sure-Fire Way To Stand Out From The Crowd

At a lecture I gave this week a young entrepreneur asked, “How do I stand out from the crowd when there are other products like mine in the market and I didn’t invent something brand new?”

My answer:

You are the “something new” in the market. No patent required.

So what you need to do to stand out from your competition is paint a picture of what makes you unique, and tell your story. Every person and every business has a story to tell that sets them apart from the crowd.

In today’s video I’m taking a minute to share part of my unique story with you, that led to pursuing my dream of being an entrepreneur and creating She Takes on the World.

I want to hear YOUR story in a comment below: What makes you unique? What’s one thing that no one else knows about you? Have you had a turning point like my “globe” moment that led you down the path you’re on today?

  1. I have moments like that whenever I most need them. The first one I had that played the big ‘shift’ in mindset brought more than ‘ah-ha’ … it brought peace. For so long I didn’t fit into what people call regular jobs. Once I settled on being an entrepreneur, all the pieces came together.

  2. The moment I knew I wanted to pursue podcasting was when I first saw my podcast on iTunes. Finding my voice on iTunes helped fueled my determination to be a podcaster. It was a moment I will never forget. The times where I feel frustrated I bring myself back to that moment to remember why I started it all in the first place.

  3. Love this, Natalie! Actually heading to Czech later this month to stand by a lifelong friend as she gets married 🙂

Had NO plans of starting a business of my own (this year or possibly EVER), but little by little, during my morning quiet time (which I only started doing in January) I felt called to do something bigger. To share my “stuff” with the world. Wasn’t sure at first if it was supposed to be “mom” stuff or “communication stuff,” a blog, a book, or a business, but little by little the answers became obvious.

I’m now just four months in, but the response to my new biz has been literally unbelievable. Total crazy train, and I’m so incredibly thankful. I have never been SO certain that I’m doing *precisely* what I was created to do.

    No turning back now! 😉

      1. It was fabulous! The wedding was in Čeladná, which was absolutely gorgeous. Prague looked like a movie set. We also got to stop through Frankfurt and London on the way in and out – it was a whirlwind of a week!

P.S. I just watched this video again, then Googled “The World Is Mine.” The official music video and the mission of She Takes on the World couldn’t be MORE different. You certainly did the song a service 🙂

  4. I am sure that was one of the most powerful signs the universe has given you!! I had the same when I started thinking and toying with the idea of my business a few months back. And I for one am happy that you did have that moment because you are helping me move forward with mine! Thank you for all that you have done and all that you will do.
