The Art of Promoting Yourself With Dan Schawbel

Promoting yourself is a DIY job on your road to success. In my interview with Dan Schawbel, author of Promote Yourself: The New Rules for Career Success, we’ll be talking about the art of self promotion and why it’s so important to get comfortable promoting yourself. No one is going to do it for you, and your success depends on it.

We talk about:

– How to make a big splash and become known in your niche (Hint: it takes a lot of patience, as Dan and I both know!)
– Keeping your name and personal brand into people’s hearts and minds
– The role of social media as a tool for self-promotion
– How to create a personal brand statement

Now I have an assignment for you: Write your Personal Brand Statement, and share it in a comment below.

  1. This is pretty basic information –– basic but good and useful. Just one thing: I winced at the part where Dan says something to the effect of big splashes just don’t happen. The fact is, they do. It is possible to go from “zero to the New York Times”. In my case, it was the New York Times best sellers list, then, Oprah, all in the first 9 months of my career.

Is it usual? No. But it’s possible because everything is possible. I believe in the law of attraction and calling the lives we want. I believe in winning the lottery, proverbial and otherwise. I believe in the power of words and claiming what can’t happen is a sure way to make sure it never does.

When we are charged with the responsibility of inspiring people, we should be careful of the words we use for all things are possible in our lives until we say they are not.

    Blessings and Successes Abound,
