Build The Mailing List Of Your Dreams

Natalie MacNeil talks about building your list

When it comes to building a business online (or even offline), there is one thing you ABSOLUTELY need to set yourself up for success: an engaged mailing list. By “engaged,” I mean a list packed with people eager to learn more about what you do, who want to stay updated on what’s going on in your corner of the web, and who, ultimately, will become your paying clients.

When I started She Takes on the World as a wee blog back in 2008 things were so different than they are now. The gospel of “build your list!” had yet to be preached everywhere.

In today’s saturated market, it can be harder to stand out, especially when you’re just starting and don’t have years of community building under your belt, but it’s still completely possible – and necessary for your business growth. Remember: there are people out there who may be needing your voice and message more than they even realize.

In today’s episode of She Takes on the World TV, I’m sharing some of my best list-building tips, to help you beef up your subscriber list, and really stand out.

Loads of love + gratitude,

  1. Great tips, as always. Thank you, Natalie.

My blog has been dormant, lately, but these tips will be very useful when I revive it in April.

One thing I noticed with blog posts… If there is anyone famous connected with your niche, wriing a blig poat about them can bring up to ten times more than usual traffic to your website – all potential subscribers.

  2. Thanks for the great video, Natalie (and team)! For those just starting out with a small or non-existent list, what is the best way to promote free offers? Facebook ads, Twitter posts, Pinterest?

    1. Rikki, Facebook Ads would definitely be my recommendation to start building your audience through your free offer 🙂 Start with whatever budget you can. I’ve seen people invest $100 and get some pretty great results to jump start their business.

  3. Hi Natalie,

I think the key word here is “engaged” audience, cause what’s the point of having people signed up if they don’t care about anything you offer them. I’m slowly learning how to share more of “me” with my audience, instead of just promoting my products, and I’m so happy to see people finaly started to interact with me 🙂

Thank you for teaching by example, you are my inspiration – I often analyse what you do that I as your customer like, and it really helps!

  4. These were some pretty cool tips. I sort of implement them already with my brand, but you brought up some things I was not doing before. I think I want to really make a few things clearer with my branding and more so about really showing who I am as a person.

  5. This is great! I really enjoyed the video and your video persona. 🙂 I will check the other videos, too. I’ve been fighting my web person’s suggestion that I niche my business (I don’t love her niche idea — it’s not “sexy” enough) but you’ve made me think I should reconsider. Thanks again!
