True Or False: You Have To Spend Money To Make Money In Business

Spend Money To Make Money

It’s a question that has been discussed among entrepreneurs for years: “Do you have to spend money to make money in business?”

So when one of our She Takes on the World TV viewers wrote in about feeling stuck on her short-term marketing strategy despite all the free long-term marketing she has been focusing on, I thought it was the perfect time to share my opinion about whether you need to spend money to make money.

Here’s the thing: If you believe in the products you’re creating, you should be 100% willing to invest in getting them into the world. [Tweet]

In today’s episode of She Takes on the World TV I dive deeper into why I think you should be investing in your business growth (even on a tight budget), and what my personal rule of thumb is when it comes to investing in a product launch:

I’d love to hear from you: What have been your most successful investments when it comes to marketing your business? Also, what hasn’t worked out so well? Let’s learn from each other’s successes and mistakes.

I’ll tell you something you don’t have to spend money on: Attending my #LIMITLESS2014 online event on December 17th! It’s totally free, and I just announced our allstar line-up of speakers including Danielle LaPorte, Gabrielle Bernstein, Christine Hassler, Amanda Steinberg, Jaime Tardy, and more.

  1. I haven’t spent money on advertising outside of Facebook. It helped greatly to get me from zero to 769 likes in just a few months. I also ran ads to publicize my first webinar and am currently testing an ad to spread the word on my recently self-published book on Amazon. Just started running it today, we’ll see how it goes! All together I think I’ve spent less than $100 in ads this year.

    1. Well that’s great Jennifer! It looks like you saw some incredible results for just $100 and I’m sure you could boost that if you invested more with those kind of conversions! I’m excited to see what you do in 2014! 🙂

  2. Love this video. (But that’s really no surprise!) The comment is more so about how lovely you look! Love that outfit! Green is your color!

  3. Google adwords is something that I have been struggling to get some good results from )-: I have tried spending $200 a month on an ad, but I think my struggle is how to write that short ad.

Any suggestions on a good resource?

  4. Great advice!

    Have a product.

I love 20% on the launch is a good idea. I love the idea of hiring. I’m going to come with a 3 month advertising plan. 🙂
You’ve just opened up what I’m willing to do. Thanks for the great advice Natalie!
