How to Show Appreciation, and Build Your Brand

19.02.13

how to show appreciationIf I had to pick just one thing that has had the biggest impact on my business, I’d say it’s gratitude. This quote perfectly sums it up:

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.” ~Melody Beattie

The more gratitude and appreciation I show, even for the small steps forward in my business, the more support and success come my way. Showing appreciation to those who help us build and grow is an art. It has to be 100% authentic. People can tell when your appreciation is heartfelt and genuine, versus just going through the motions.

Showing gratitude and appreciation is so important that I thought it deserved its own episode of She Takes on the World TV. Watch the episode below (or click here):

Have a story of gratitude and appreciation to share? We’d love to hear from you in a comment below!

Thank you so much for watching this episode. I’m having a ton of fun creating these episodes and I hope they are serving you. Lots more to come!

*Deep bow and cosmic hugs*

Great tips Natalie! I do something called connection branding and you are talking about one of the super powers, relationships. That means your focus is on building a connection through relationships. It will definitely help others connect with you better and show them that you actually care, imagine that. :D

Something I’d like to add to your #2 tip though would be to thank them but also ask them a question. Something like “Thanks for sharing! What in particular did you like about that article?” Or “Thank you! You’re a rockstar! Anything I can help you with?”

I’ve been doing it recently and it helps to get people to engage with me a bit more. I love building relationships too so it’s nice to be able to dig a little deeper than just a simple thank you.

    Take care!

I love showing appreciation, so thank you for this video and re-inspiring me. I am a Chiropractor, and I offer all of my staff a bonus at the end of weeks where I see a set number of clients. It is usually a surprise to them to receive a ‘thank you’ note and a small check in their boxes. I usually get big hugs and a few ‘gratitude’ tears from them. In addition, I say ‘thank you’ at the end of every day to my staff before I leave for the day. I think it’s always nice to say it to those we rely on in our day-to-day. Thank you Natalie!

Love that Arjan, and you’re absolutely right about the day-to-day appreciation we show to those we rely on. Thanks so much for your comment!

An Attitude of Gratitude is the greatest frame of mind one can have. It’s a game changer. Thank you for this post, for the video, and for the reminder. I use journaling in my coaching practice and I remind my clients that when they cannot think of anything else to write, jot down 3 things they are grateful for. The writing flows from there!
