Mila Kunis Oscars

Mila Kunis at the Oscars, 2011

Were you recently invited to a business formal event, gala evening, or even a friend’s wedding? Of course, being a mother of children or a mother of one or two businesses you have absolutely no time to think about what you want to wear. You know that come the day of the event, you are going to want to look and feel beautiful. Chances are if you are doing last minute shopping you might not achieve the “feeling beautiful” part and instead be left feeling stressed out.

Normally, I hate following celebrity trends but I think they got it right this year at the Oscars. Three trends I ABSOLUTELY loved were jewel tones, whitewash, and pastels. These are all very trendy now, but you can buy classics of each of these colorways that will never be outdated. All you need to keep in mind is what silhouette looks best on your body type and what color makes your skin tone pop the most.

Three of my favorite jewel tones worn at this year’s Oscars were Natalie Portman’s purple Rodarte, Jennifer Hudson’s flaming orange Versace and Amy Adams’ royal blue sequins L’Wren Scott.

My favorite white gowns this year were Cate Blanchett’s Givenchy, Mandy Moore’s Monique Lhuillier, Hailee Steinfeld’s Georgina Chapman and Michelle William’s Chanel. If you are wearing white at a wedding try to find a white that has pink or silver tones.

My ABSOLUTE favorite gown of the evening, and probably many other people’s favorite, was Mila Kunis’ draped chiffon & lace (a trend from last year) done in a beautiful new trendy periwinkle by Elie Saab. I love seeing an unexpected color on the red carpet that is done right.

What were your favorite red carpet looks and which looks will you be incorporating into your wardrobe?
